Imaging

Diagnostic Imaging is used when we need to learn more about your pet’s condition. These technologies are designed to show us the structures and processes inside your pet’s body so that we can accurately diagnose your pet and recommend the best treatment options. The precise type of images taken will depend on the symptoms your pet is displaying as well as the parts of their body that are involved.

Digital Radiographs

Digital radiographs, commonly called X-rays, help us look inside your pet’s body to better understand what’s going on. They allow our medical team to quickly and safely view the chest, abdomen, bones, and joints to identify concerns such as breathing problems, abdominal issues, broken bones, foreign objects, or pain sources.

When you bring your pet to Urgent Veterinary Care in Auburn, diagnostic imaging is often one of the first steps in evaluating how serious your pet’s condition is. These images help our veterinarians make faster, more accurate decisions about treatment and next steps.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasound uses safe sound waves to create real-time images of your pet’s internal organs. At Urgent Veterinary Care, we perform point-of-care ultrasounds, which are focused scans used to quickly check for urgent concerns such as fluid buildup, changes in organ size, or signs of internal bleeding. These targeted exams help us make fast, informed decisions when time matters most.

In some cases, a more detailed comprehensive abdominal ultrasound is recommended. This type of study is performed by a veterinary imaging specialist and provides a full, in-depth evaluation of all abdominal organs. While we do not offer comprehensive abdominal ultrasounds on-site, we can guide you on next steps if your pet would benefit from this advanced imaging.

Both types of ultrasound play an important role in helping us understand your pet’s condition and determine the best plan for care.
